Every Thursday we meet at 19:00 in the AStA of the University of Osnabrück, Alte Münze 12, 49074 Osnabrückin our Hackspace Rabbithole.Events
All events of the next month can be viewed online and are available as an iCalendar subscription or as an .ics file: our calendar.Surveillance is intended to create control. But surveillance can serve many different interests, and we cannot possibly keep track of all of them. Devices used for surveillance are installed all around us, willingly carried with us, or secretly implanted. Yet most of us have little technical understanding of what these devices actually do.
What is going on behind the apparent opacity? What is being measured? What can be done with measurement data? How does surveillance work? What the hell is Palantir, anyway? This talk is meant to be a short excursion through the technology behind it all, offering answers that raise even more questions.
The talk will be held in German.
We support and participate in the Digital Independence Day movement.
Every first Sunday of the month, we are on-site to offer support for taking steps towards digital independence.
These don’t always have to be big steps. Perhaps you’d like to stop buying books or e-books from the big monopolist and instead support your local bookstore. Or you’re wondering how to set up an email address with a European provider.
Feel free to drop by with your questions about digital independence. We’ll provide advice based on our experience and the collected recipes from the nationwide initiative, offering help for self-help.
If you have specific topic requests, you’re welcome to contact us in advance so we can potentially include them in the next or a following event.

The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) invites all interested parties to join us for the 40th edition of the Chaos Communication Congress under the motto ‘Model Citizens’. The 40C3 will open its doors on 27 December 2026 on the fairgrounds in the heart of Hamburg.
